The main bathroom turning into a bit of a nightmare, upon removing the vinyl flooring, we discovered the tounge and groove boards were blown, and had mould growing out of them due to a leak that had occurred from the bath and toilet years before.
This had ruined not only the boards but also the insulation and timber joist which were also saturated. We were left with no choice other than to completely strip out the complete bathroom and replace the floor joists, insulation and new tongue and groove boards before reinstalling the bath then tiling could be completed.

For a customer in Cousley wood, for whom we built the field shelter for a couple of years ago. We returned to put some hard standing inside the field shelter due to it flooding in heavy rain, using tram, a 6 inch type 1 base, sharp sand and mud control slabs finished with a lovely new straw bed made a perfect new home for Star the horse.
For the outside of the field shelter, where the drainage was a bit of a issue and would become a boggy mess, we installed perforated 100mm land drains, a 1.5m x 1.5m soak away with 2 x 1.2m soak away creates.
Oak sleepers to form a 3.5m x 5.4m hard standing, tram, a 6 inch type 1 base, finished with 5000 litres of bark.
We also added new guttering and a downpipe into a 300 litre water butt which works a treat

Whilst it was out it made sense to upgrade the gas main from a 15mm to a 22mm pipe and the wiring and sockets at the same time.
To resolve this we had to removed the hardwood flooring, floor boards, rotten timber joist’s and treat the walls with a DPM black jack, we then installed a damp proof membrane and reinstated a new treated timber suspended floor.
